Acca Insurance

insuranceAccumulators are a great way to increase your winnings. From a single £1 stake you can stand to win hundreds or even thousands of pounds depending on the number of selections you have. Each year someone hits the jackpot big time, early in 2015 a punter won over £70k from a 14 line football accumulator.

Accumulators are as old as the football coupon itself and can be placed on any sport with multiple matches or events that are independent of each other. Bookies have been offering accumulator offers for over half a century and you can pretty much find an accumulator offer with them all.

There is nothing more frustrating than placing an accumulator bet, all your teams are winning and then in the last minute a freak own goal goes and wrecks your perfect prediction. This is where acca insurance comes in. This insures you against one of your selections losing by refunding your money so that you can have another go.

Many acca insurance offers exist, in this article we explain the difference between acca offers, how to place an acca insurance bet and some common terms to look out for. Accumulator insurance is a great way to add value to your bets and push the odds more in your favour. If you bet on accumulators regularly you would be silly not to use these offers.

Common Acca Terms and Conditions

Terms and conditionsAlways make sure you understand the terms with any betting offer. Bookies at the end of the day are out to make money and there is very rarely sentiment if you miss your offer by not reading the T&C’s correctly. Here are some common terms to look out for, for more detail read our accumulator betting guide.

  1. Number of Legs – This is usually four or five selections to claim the offer. This is generally lower for both teams to score
  2. Minimum Odds – minimum odds if applicable tend to be low (3 or 4/1 usually), this is easy to achieve on an accumulator as long as you don’t pick all massive favourites. Some offers like 10bet’s require a certain number of selections to be above a certain odds threshold.
  3. Void Bets – If a match or selection is classified as void then usually this will mean it is excluded from the accumulator and therefore the offer. This is important if the offer is say for a 5+ accumulator and you only have 5 selections as this now means you would not get your insurance if any of the other 4 lost.
  4. Sports and Markets – Many money back offers are restricted to a given market, such as Premier League games, etc. Make sure you pick qualifying selections.
  5. Refund – Some refunds are given as free bets, others as cash and some as promo cash. Free bets must be used in one go, cash can be used however you like and promo cash cannot be withdrawn but can be split and wagered on multiple bets.
